In my recent project we had a requirement to send a HTTP request in XML document format (e.g. request for a specific order detail). The response was also in XML format. So now question is how would you do that in .Net? Here is the code snippet which you can use to do the same thing. |
Click here to copy the following block | Sub HTTPSendReceiveDemo() Dim xdoc As New System.Xml.XmlDocument Dim resp As String
xdoc.Load("c:\orderrequest.xml") Dim bdata() As Byte = System.Text.Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes(xdoc.OuterXml)
Dim bresp() As Byte
Dim wc As New System.Net.WebClient wc.Headers.Add("Content-Type", "text/xml") bresp = wc.UploadData("https://members.somesite.com/xml/orderdetail.asp", bdata)
resp = System.Text.Encoding.ASCII.GetString(bresp) MsgBox(resp) End Sub |
